It is important to note that the general C-GATE only contains exaptations clearly detailed in the literature. If you want to have access to the putative data showing TE exaptations we invite you to look at our pC-GATE. All human entries are linked to the Dfam database where you can obtain additional information on the TE you are interested in.
Some of the data was obtained directly from the Juergen Brosius lab page and from Carla Cohen and colleagues review. If you think some of the C-GATE entries are not well defined, or wrong, please leave us a message here.
